The Role
We are seeking a self‑motivated, proactive Account Manager who will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing APPLIED’s House Accounts, as well as closing new business opportunities. Key activities include proactive outreach on pre‑established set of accounts, executing on account plan strategies, and providing daily technical and product level support. This individual will work independently and collaboratively to create value and drive profitable growth. This role requires occasional, local travel, but the majority of the job will be done from a home office. You must live in the Twin Cities, MN area to be considered for this role. This is a remote role.
Key Responsibilities
Retain & grow sales/profitability with existing customers.
Win new business opportunities with support of the Business Development Team.
Uncover larger opportunities within existing book of business.
Work cross‑functionally to implement account pricing strategies.
Proactively assess and validate customer needs and goals on an ongoing basis.
Develop strong relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account.
Maintain high activity levels and review with management as required.
Develop and maintain detailed customer plans with existing and prospective key accounts that are critical to achieving house revenue and profit margin goals.
Maintain high levels of professional internal and external communication.
Teamwork and collaboration with other Applied Product functional areas (Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service).
Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes to support company objectives and customer expectations.

Experience And Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of Account Management experience required. 3-5 years of Account Management preferred.
Prior experience in adhesives or related field is highly preferred.
Experience closing new business and growing and retaining existing business is required.
Must be well organized, process and data driven, with the ability to make decisions and act on them.
Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationships, demonstrate resilience, and handle difficult situations with a positive "can do" attitude.
Proven experience & ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills, including a strong phone presence, listening, and presentation skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Desire to develop knowledge and practice of customer‑focused selling processes.
Must be open to up to 10% domestic travel
