This is a high-visibility, externally facing role focused on building relationships with early-stage and high-growth tech companies. You'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, understanding the financial needs of fast-moving clients, and delivering tailored solutions that support their growth and operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting and enjoys working closely with founders and executive teams. You'll collaborate across internal teams to ensure clients receive seamless, high-impact service, while also contributing to the broader commercial strategy of a forward-thinking financial institution. Key Responsibilities New Business Development: Proactively source and onboard startup/tech clients Relationship Management: Build long-term partnerships with founders and execs Solution Selling: Tailor banking solutions to client needs Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, tech, and compliance teams Strategic Influence: Help shape the bank's growth in the innovation economy Sales Targets: Drive deposit growth and product adoption Required Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within fintech, commercial banking, or B2B SaaS Proven success working with startups or venture-backed companies Strong understanding of payment infrastructure and deposit products Consultative sales approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced education or certifications are a plus Why It's Strategic: This role reports directly to the Chief Banking Officer , offering high visibility and the chance to influence Piermont's expansion into the innovation economy.
