Job Summary
The Manager of Retail and Events is responsible for organizing lead‑generating retail and consumer events in 3 markets: Philadelphia, New York & New Jersey. This role includes identifying retail and event opportunities, developing scripts and collateral, and managing retail and event staff, including their hours and productivity. It also involves identifying and scheduling events such as Home Show, State Fairs, and other fairs to staff a team that generates quality appointments for our sales force. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, teaching, and coaching the team of promoters who visit retailers and events consistently.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Event Planning and logistics.
Manage a team of promoters to generate leads for the sales force across retail partnerships & events.
Manage the execution and logistics of retail shows and exhibitions, including set‑up, breakdown and transportation of the display/space, promotional items, literature, scripts and other details.
Interview, hire, train, teach, coach & evaluate promoters to achieve PJ Fitz company standards.
Maintain adequate staffing levels to hit budget goals. Work closely with recruiting to ensure the number of interviews needed to stay staffed.
Develop promoters’ schedules to hit goals. Schedules are to always be 2 weeks out.
Consistent visits to promoters within retail & events spaces to coach, train, shadow and inspect what is expected in the field.
Work Schedule
Full Time, M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM (Weekends during event season, Off‑days change during event season).
Travel
50% – “Office” Market will be home location (Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey) – 1 week in each of the other 2 markets, 2 weeks in home market. Subject to change during Home Show Season to meet business needs.
