Overview Gallagher Re generates tremendous intellectual property through its access to data, analytics and industry relationships. Deploying this IP to clients and publishing it through thought leadership are key avenues through which Gallagher Re adds value to clients and promotes our brand name generally. Many of our publications are widely recognized as industry benchmarks, reinforcing Gallagher Re’s reputation as a thought leader and driving meaningful impact within the sector. There is a significant opportunity to elevate and expand our market research capabilities. The Director of Market Research will be a key architect in developing and executing this strategy to support the Gallagher Re brand name and add value to our clients directly. You will lead market research within our Global Strategic Advisory team, in particular owning our cornerstone Quarterly Market Insights product and other ad hoc thematic research. You will also have specific responsibility for the firm’s flagship macro publications including First View. You will collaborate with the firm’s Products & Practices unit on joint initiatives and with the firm’s Marketing team in terms of publication and dissemination of these publications. This initiative is a top priority for the firm, with the full support and engagement of Gallagher Re’s senior leadership. This role is pivotal in shaping the firm’s intellectual capital, supporting client advisory and positioning Gallagher Re as a thought leader in the global reinsurance market. How you’ll make an impact Lead Market Research for Global Strategic Advisory, including our cornerstone Quarterly Market Insights product
Deliver client‑specific advisories on thematic trends and market conditions
Collaborate with senior leaders across Gallagher Re, particularly Products & Practices and Marketing, to produce world‑class research on key industry thematics
Specific responsibility for the firm’s flagship publications including First View
Work with GSA leaders to develop new industry research based on in‑house intellectual property
Lead idea generation and execute other macro publications that are relevant to the firm’s overall strategic priorities
Provide actionable insights to brokers, clients, and senior leadership in support of relevant published materials, sales campaigns and industry conferences
Collaborate with analytics and broking teams across the firm to integrate quantitative and commercial insights into research outputs
Partner with client‑facing teams to tailor insights for key accounts and strategic pitches
Act as a senior spokesperson on market trends and industry developments
Foster a culture of curiosity, rigor, and innovation
About You Experience and Skills
University degree with a demonstration of a strong analytical background, such as a degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance, financial services, or strategic research
Proven track record in leading research or business intelligence functions, within a strategy role or as an equity or credit research analyst
Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, capital markets, regulatory and accounting frameworks, and an ability to see insurance companies and the industry holistically
High levels of financial literacy
Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills
Ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
Comfortable engaging with C‑suite executives and external stakeholders
Track record in leveraging data visualizations to drive a story/strategy

Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
