Role Overview As a startup in high-growth mode, we’re seeking a sharp, organized, and culturally fluent Editorial Assistant to support The Más — our weekly newsletter and expanding editorial platform.
Reporting to the Editorial Director, this role supports the full editorial lifecycle — from research and development through publishing and performance tracking — while helping build the operational backbone of a modern, digital-first media engine.
You will manage daily desk responsibilities, support contributor coordination, assist in shaping story development, and contribute writing across newsletter and feature formats. This role requires strong editorial instincts, operational rigor, and a deep interest in training culture as it intersects with luxury, fashion, wellness, and popular culture.
Key Responsibilities Fact-check and proofread all newsletter and feature content to ensure accuracy, tone alignment, and editorial integrity
Conduct story, image, and cultural research to support feature development
Support weekly newsletter production (Bloggle uploads, formatting, QA, scheduling)
Maintain and update editorial calendar and production timelines
Liaise with freelance writers and contributors to manage workflow and deadlines
Coordinate briefs, assets, and publishing materials across teams
Write newsletter sections, culture roundups, interviews, and short‑form features
Optimize content for SEO and digital performance
Track and report basic performance metrics (open rates, CTR, engagement)
Conduct competitor and trend research across fitness, fashion, media, and culture
Identify workflow efficiencies and recommend process improvements
Support development of recurring content franchises and community engagement initiatives
Qualifications & Required Skills 1–3 years’ experience in journalism, editorial, or digital media
Strong writing and copy‑editing skills
Experience with Bloggle, Monday.com, and Substack preferred
Working knowledge of SEO best practices
Exceptional organization and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Cultural fluency across fitness, training, luxury fashion, and wellness
Entrepreneurial, growth‑oriented mindset
Strong communication skills and cross‑functional collaboration ability
Location New York, NY, working remotely, with some required travel
Reports to Editorial Director (based in London)
Salary Range $40,000 - $50,000
