Marketing Manager

Rely Wealth, San Diego, CA, United States

Overview Full-Time $85,000 – $105,000 base+10–15% performance bonus THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF... – You want to own something — not execute someone else's checklist. – You're energized by the challenge of building a brand that doesn't yet have its full voice. – You know how to create content that earns trust with high-achieving professionals — not generic tips, but ideas that actually move people. – You thrive working directly with a founder: fast decisions, high expectations, real ownership. – You want to be part of a small, growing firm where your work is visible, valued, and directly tied to results. If that sounds like you, keep reading. THE OPPORTUNITY Rely Wealth Partners is a wealth advisory firm managing over $250M for a select group of business owners, executives, and high-achieving professionals in Southern California and beyond. Our team of three advisors — led by our Founder — delivers highly personalized investment, tax, estate, and retirement strategies. We're not a factory. Every client relationship is intentional. We're at an exciting inflection point. The firm is growing, our vision is sharpening, and we're evolving our brand to better reflect who we've become and where we're going. The person who joins us now will be part of that story from the beginning — helping shape not just our marketing, but the identity we carry forward. You'll be our first dedicated marketing hire — building systems, shaping strategy, and creating content that reflects who we really are. This is a generalist role with a clear core: digital strategy, content production, and social media. You'll also have a hand in client outreach and events as you settle in, with the expectation that as the firm grows, you grow with it — eventually building out a small team beneath you. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Develop and own the firm's quarterly and annual marketing plan, focused on visibility, audience growth, and lead generation. Design and execute multi-channel campaigns that speak directly to business owners, executives, and professionals approaching major wealth transitions. Track performance against clear KPIs — engagement, inquiries, referral activity — and optimize campaigns based on data, not gut feel. Work directly with the Founder to align marketing activity with business priorities, new service launches, and key client segments. Content & Media Production Coordination Manage a consistent content calendar across formats: short-form social, long-form articles, email newsletters, video, and podcast clips. Coordinate with external editors, videographers, and designers to produce polished, on-brand content — owning the brief, timeline, and final review. Draft scripts and talking points for video and podcast appearances; oversee editing and publishing to YouTube and the firm's website. Ensure every piece of content reflects the firm's voice: credible, human, approachable, and genuinely useful to our audience. Digital & Social Media Management Own the firm's publishing calendar and community presence across YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X. Develop content that builds trust with high-performing professionals — not generic financial tips, but genuine insights and perspectives they can't find everywhere else. Maintain and regularly update the website: content refreshes, bio updates, media mentions, and new campaign landing pages. Monitor analytics and engagement trends; use the data to sharpen what's working and cut what isn't. WHO YOU ARE Experience & Skills 3–5+ years in marketing, ideally in financial services, professional services, or a high-trust B2B environment. Strong writer with a sharp eye for brand tone — you can flex between educational, conversational, and authoritative without losing the thread. Comfortable directing external vendors: editors, videographers, designers. You write the brief, own the timeline, and hold the standard. Proficient in HubSpot, Zoho, or similar marketing CRM, Canva, Office365, and social publishing tools. Tech-savvy leveraging AI tools such as Claude to increase capacity and output. Familiarity with compliance expectations in a registered investment advisory (RIA) environment is a plus, not a requirement. Who You Are as a Person Entrepreneurial. You see a gap and fill it. You don't wait to be told what the next priority is — you figure it out and get moving. Comfortable with ambiguity. We're a growing firm, not a Fortune 500 with a 40-page brand playbook. You build clarity out of uncertainty rather than being paralyzed by it. Genuinely curious. You read, you follow trends, you notice what's working in the market — and you bring those observations into your work. High integrity. Our clients trust us with their financial lives. You understand that every piece of content reflects that relationship and you treat it accordingly. A collaborator, not just an executor. You push back with ideas, bring your perspective to the table, and make the Founder's vision sharper — not just louder. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT 12 MONTHS BRAND CONSISTENCY Brand: Rely Wealth has a recognizable, coherent voice and visual identity across every channel. CONTENT ENGINE A steady cadence of high-quality content is published across social, email, and video — on schedule, every week. LEAD CONTRIBUTION Marketing is generating measurable inbound interest — qualified inquiries that the Founder can follow up on. FOUNDER AMPLIFIED The Founder's expertise and voice are consistently amplified — on social, in media, and in the market. SYSTEMS IN PLACE Marketing runs on organized, repeatable systems — not ad hoc scrambles. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base Salary: $85,000 – $105,000, depending on experience. Performance Bonus: 10–15% of base, tied to campaign metrics, lead generation, and marketing's contribution to firm growth. Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage. 401(k). Paid time off. Growth Path: As Rely Wealth grows, this role grows. We're looking for someone who wants to build something — and eventually lead a small team. HOW TO APPLY Send your resume, a brief note on why this role excites you, and 2–3 examples of work you're proud of — social campaigns, newsletters, videos, or anything that shows how you think and create.
