The Marketing Department supports the mission of Shaker Village by sharing the stories of impact that make the Village special and inviting others to become part of that story themselves.
Position: Digital Media Coordinator | Status: Salary, full-time with benefits
Working at Shaker Village includes onsite amenities such as overnight accommodations, dining and catering services, retail shops, event and meeting venues, historical exhibitions and tours, farm and garden areas, nature preserve, trail system, equestrian stable and an extensive calendar of programs, activities and events.
Responsibilities Produce photo and video footage across the Shaker Village site. Edit content to create Reels, Stories and videos for shakervillageky.org, social media, targeted emails and digital ads.
Assist the Graphic Designer to plan shoots, create shot lists and storyboards, prepare interview subjects and style shoots.
Assist the Chief Marketing Officer in leading monthly marketing planning meetings to source and map out ideas for social media posts, ads, public relations initiatives, partnerships and emails.
Create and manage the monthly content calendar, ensuring a consistent presence across social media platforms. Working weeks and months in advance using a content management system to pre-schedule posts.
Write all copy to accompany imagery/video on social media posts.
Be an engaged community manager on social media responding to all direct messages, questions and comments from followers.
Manage star ratings across Google and other applicable platforms by responding to all reviews and developing strategies to increase rankings.
Update Shaker Village event calendar listings, Facebook events, blog posts and retail item listings as assigned on the Shaker Village website and the Shops e-commerce site.
Update community event calendars as assigned on tourism and chamber of commerce websites.
Tap into social media trends that can be applicable to the Shaker Village brand and propose content strategies to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Analyze social media metrics and insights to optimize content performance.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on social media analytics.
Secure quotes, assist in vendor/partner selection process and manage outside services as directed.
Attend signature and special events that take place on planned weekends and some evenings to capture content.
Ensure all work meets the Shaker Village brand guidelines both visually and in our written voice.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skilled at using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X).

Skilled writer, with the ability to write copy for a variety of needs and target audiences.
Excellent photography and videography skills, with ability to edit images and video content.
Ability to multi-task. Comfortable at adapting to changing priorities.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines without compromising consistency in the process.
Willingness to learn, study and become knowledgeable about all Shaker Village activities, amenities and guest experiences, as well as basic history of the site.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes some evenings and weekends.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, marketing, graphic design, communications or related field required.
Minimum four years of social media, copywriting, editing, visual content creation or related field experience.
Working knowledge of video editing programs required.
Portfolio must include both photography and videography work, as well as writing samples.
Mental and Physical Requirements Ability to maintain concentration with constant time pressures while meeting deadlines.
Ability to maintain visual attention for considerable lengths of time.
Ability to sit and stand for considerable lengths of time at times in confined spaces and in close proximity to other employees.
Ability to operate computers and general office equipment.
Working Environment and Conditions Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
Noise level is usually moderate.
This position will require working weekends, holidays and some evenings as needed.
Flexibility in work schedule and location can be discussed.
