Position Summary: The Digital Communications Specialist supports HOPE for Bereaved’s efforts in all areas – fundraising, events, outreach, and programs - through content creation, digital communications, and logistics coordination. This role bridges digital communications and technical program administration to ensure accurate, compassionate engagement with the community. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: Use Canva to create and update flyers, brochures, presentations, and graphics for programs, fundraising events, and educational opportunities Digitally distribute bi‑monthly newsletter through email In collaboration with the Executive Director, create content to communicate about events and programs through social media, emails, public domains, and memberships/coalitions Oversee the technical functions of the Butterfly Garden - managing bench donors (yearly/as needed), rentals (weekly/as needed), and brick purchases (daily/as needed) Manage and update the organization’s technical communication systems, including outgoing messages for holidays and closures on main phone system and through social media Support technical logistics for meetings, programs, and events by managing attendees, including integrating this information into current systems (Panorama, Constant Contact) In coordination with IT support, manage content for website by ensuring all programs, events, resources, and trainings are accurately reflected and consistently updated Support organizational systems and data coordination by assisting with data cleanup, generating basic reports, assisting with software tools used for volunteers, events, and programs, and learning/suggesting new systems as needed to support efficient operations Provide on‑site support at events and programs as needed/requested Required Skills/Abilities: Content creation for social media, email, and web Visual storytelling using Canva Ability to translate program information into accessible language Strong digital organization skills Comfortable managing attendee lists and integrations Ability to work collaboratively with program and development staff Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience Experience in nonprofit communications or program support Familiarity with email marketing platforms a plus Experience supporting events or programs Ability to attend events and programs on‑site as needed Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (event materials, supplies) Ability to attend and move about event spaces, both indoors and outdoors Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and digital devices Visual ability to review content on screens and printed materials Location: Onondaga County FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non‑Exempt, Part‑time (10 hours per week) Hourly Rate: $20‑24 per hour Work Location: Hybrid/Remote #J-18808-Ljbffr
