Position Summary The Marketing Intern role primarily serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product and service issues. The intern acts as the primary liaison between Securaplane and its customer base, working directly with customers to generate product and service orders. This position supports critical customer business workflows, including the order management process from quote to shipping, customer issue resolution (focused on deliveries through payment), and contract and business compliance, with a focus on trade export compliance. The role covers processes and procedures related to both production and repair. This is a year‑round internship position with the potential to last through graduation, requiring candidates to be local to the Tucson/Oro Valley areas. Core Responsibilities Marketing Collateral & Promotional Material: Develop and create new product-based marketing collateral to support the Sales team’s customer engagement. Refresh existing marketing and promotional materials. Support the development of sales presentations and product demonstration materials for product promotional activities. Sales & Data Analysis Support: Assist with the completion of customer/product capture plans. Collect and analyze historical sales and bookings data to understand sales activity by customer, product, region, and segments. Utilize sales and bookings data to develop and interpret trend analysis. Develop sales and booking reports to identify actual performance versus forecast at the product, platform, and customer levels. Review CRM (Salesforce) funnel management and assist the Sales team in maintaining opportunities in their current state. Market Research & Database Development: Conduct market segmentation using the installed fleet database and present findings to territory sales managers. Develop an installed product database by platform. General & Operational: Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with potential for night/weekend work, variable schedules, and additional hours as necessary. Physical Requirements The role involves approximately 80% sitting and 20% standing/walking indoors. It may require lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs, using the head and neck in static positions, and performing light lifting. Minimal heavy lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, or exposure to excessive noise/hazards is expected. Typing with a computer and keyboard is a primary activity. Job Specifications Education: Minimum of 3 years of study towards an undergraduate degree in Marketing or a similar field is required. Experience: No prior experience is required. Certifications: None required. Work Schedule: The intern is expected to work between 12 and 30 hours per week, depending on their school schedule and commitments. This is a year‑round internship, with flexible hours determined by school commitments. Up to 20 hours per week are expected during the school year, with potential for more hours during breaks and in the summer. Candidates must be local to the Tucson/Oro Valley areas. Skills Customer Service & Communication: Capable of resolving customer issues. Able to interpret customer order requirements and translate them into company capabilities. Experience with high telephone usage and proper telephone etiquette. Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexible, open‑minded listener/learner. Technical & Analytical: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is a must. Analytical, fact‑based problem solver. Teamwork & Adaptability: Strong team player, with the ability to work on cross‑functional teams. Able to perform in a multitasking, fast‑paced environment. Preferred Skills: Experience in, or ability to decipher contracts, regulations, and procedures; previous experience with contract administration is preferred. Knowledge of FAA, FAR, DFAR (Federal Aviation Administration / Federal Acquisition Regulation / Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation) preferred. Web‑based applications and system administration experience; direct Customer portal experience preferred.
