Overview Red Moon Marketing is seeking a driven, curious, and analytical Digital Marketing Intern to join our team for the summer. This immersive, hands‑on internship is designed for rising seniors who are ready to move beyond theory and gain real‑world experience executing strategic digital marketing campaigns for dynamic brands.
As a Digital Marketing Intern, you will play an active role in planning, launching, optimizing, and reporting on integrated digital programs. You won’t just observe — you will contribute meaningfully to live campaigns across paid search, paid social, programmatic advertising, digital promotions, and emerging digital platforms.
This role provides exposure to multiple disciplines within the agency, offering a well‑rounded understanding of how digital strategy, creative, analytics, and client engagement work together to drive measurable results.

Program Details Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Duration: Summer term (exact dates flexible based on academic schedule)
Key Responsibilities Campaign Execution & Optimization Assist in building, launching, and optimizing campaigns across platforms such as Yahoo DSP, Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube), and paid social channels
Support digital couponing initiatives, gamified marketing programs, and other website‑based engagement tools
Monitor campaign performance and recommend adjustments to improve KPIs including CTR, conversions, CPA, and ROAS
Ensure accurate trafficking, tagging, and execution of media placements
Strategy & Research Conduct market, competitive, and audience research to support strategic planning
Analyze competitive media spending and industry trends
Develop insights that inform targeting, messaging, and channel strategy
Stay current on digital advertising trends, tools, and emerging technologies
Reporting & Analytics Compile performance reports and assist in presenting cycle reporting to internal teams
Use Excel to organize and analyze large datasets; build pivot tables, apply formulas (including VLOOKUP and CONCATENATE), and create visual charts
Translate performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
Collaboration & Agency Integration Work closely with Client Engagement and PR/Content teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas
Attend agency, team, and client meetings as an active contributor
Build positive relationships with media representatives and vendor partners
Occasionally assist with experiential marketing events to better understand the full scope of Red Moon’s services

Requirements Rising Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field from an accredited university
Previous internship experience in marketing or advertising preferred, but not required
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A proactive problem‑solver who brings thoughtful, innovative solutions
Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables, formulas (VLOOKUP, CONCATENATE), data analysis, and basic data visualization
Comfortable learning and navigating digital advertising platforms
Familiarity with Paid Social, Paid Search, Programmatic advertising, or digital design is a plus
Experience with Canva required; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign is a plus
