We aim to optimize lifespan and healthspan through meticulous screening, leading‑edge therapeutics, and tailored interventions designed to prevent disease and detect it at the earliest possible stages. Each member's care is led by a dedicated Chief Medical Officer who collaborates with specialists in cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, women’s health, endocrinology, integrative health, performance and movement, nutrition, and more. Through our nonprofit Atria Research Institute and Public Health Institute, we also work to accelerate the translation of medical breakthroughs and expand access to preventive care for as many people as possible. Senior Health and Science Writer Atria is looking for an exceptional Senior Health and Science Writer to create flagship content focused on preventive medicine and up‑to‑the‑minute science. This role requires someone who can thrive in our startup environment, where we move quickly to find creative solutions and turn them into reality. This function combines journalistic rigor and deep expertise in health and science, including emerging discoveries and consumer trends. You will work closely with our physicians to ensure our content maintains the highest standards of scientific accuracy while being engaging and actionable for diverse audiences. Specifically, you will: Create authoritative content that provides Atria's evidence‑informed, risk‑adjusted perspective on emerging and established health protocols, products, and emerging technologies. Contribute to content needs across the department as they arise, drafting internal communications, refining public health materials, or other collaborative projects. Support broader content initiatives by contributing to newsletters, public health content, and educational materials. Ensure consistency in our scientific voice while adapting your writing style for different audiences and formats. Stay current with developments in preventive medicine, longevity research, and health care technology, identifying opportunities for Atria to provide valuable commentary and education on emerging trends. Craft clear, compelling pieces that help physicians and patients navigate an increasingly complex landscape. Write in‑depth but approachable pieces that expand on medical topics, making cutting‑edge science understandable and actionable for both medical professionals and the general public. Interview leading researchers and doctors, review scientific literature, and synthesize complex information into clear, engaging prose. Work with Atria's physicians to co‑author or clinically review new articles. Who we're looking for: Experienced health and science writer capable of translating complex scientific concepts into compelling, accessible content. Prioritizes accuracy and ethics in all health‑care content. Produces high‑quality work consistently while juggling multiple projects. Brings editorial judgment from covering complex topics and making them relevant and actionable for readers. Curious about medicine, science, and emerging health technologies, with the ability to quickly understand new scientific developments. Writes authoritatively about medical topics while exercising caution about claims and recommendations. Comfortable working closely with physicians and experts, asking the right questions to ensure content is scientifically sound and practically useful. Adapts writing style for different audiences, from technical medical content to accessible public health communication. Compensation $175,000 - $200,000, depending on years of experience. Requirements Minimum of 10+ years of experience writing about health, medicine, or science topics for professional or consumer audiences. Demonstrated expertise covering medical research, health care policy, or health technology preferred. Strong portfolio of published work showing ability to translate complex medical and scientific concepts for diverse audiences, including both short commentary pieces and longer‑form educational content. Experience working with medical professionals and scientific sources; comfort reading and interpreting scientific studies. Excellent writing and storytelling abilities with strong attention to scientific accuracy and ethical considerations.
