Marketing Teacher

Position Purpose Provides standards-based instruction in business and marketing education aligned to district curriculum and Georgia CTAE standards. Supports students in developing business knowledge, marketing skills, and career readiness competencies in accordance with district procedures and applicable law. Responsibilities Provide instruction aligned with district curriculum and Georgia CTAE Marketing pathway standards. Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that promote business knowledge, marketing principles, and workplace readiness skills. Instruct students in business concepts, merchandising, marketing strategies, entrepreneurship, and the appropriate use of business technology and equipment. Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs, including students with disabilities, in accordance with IEPs and Section 504 plans. Assess and document student progress consistent with district grading and reporting procedures. Maintain a safe and structured learning environment; instruct students in the proper and safe use of equipment and technology. Integrate career development and leadership skills into instruction; advise and support student participation in appropriate CTSO activities. Maintain accurate records related to attendance, grades, inventory, and program documentation in compliance with district procedures and applicable law. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and program expectations. Participate in required professional learning and maintain professional competence. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings and committees as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA and district policy. Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or designee consistent with certification and district expectations. NOTE The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Equipment Uses standard classroom and office equipment, including computers, instructional technology, business-related software, and related materials. Travel Requirements Travel to district buildings, professional learning activities, CTSO events, and school‑related functions as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, current pedagogy, and differentiation techniques. Knowledge of business education and marketing curriculum aligned to Georgia CTAE standards. Knowledge of federal and state laws related to education, students with disabilities, and student safety. Ability to use technology, software applications, and data systems as required. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage in professional reflection and continuous improvement. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and community partners. Ability to integrate business technology and industry practices into instruction. Ability to organize and manage classroom and program activities effectively. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Work occurs in classroom and school environments; requires standing, walking, supervision of students, and use of instructional technology and equipment. Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Certification/License Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Marketing Education or appropriate CTAE field, or eligibility as required for the assignment. Valid driver’s license or ability to provide transportation. Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience Prior teaching or industry experience in business or marketing preferred. FLSA Status: Exempt #J-18808-Ljbffr
