Overview
Piper Companies is seeking a Science Communications Specialist (SCS) to join a leading CRO in the greater Washington, DC/Montgomery County area . This is a full-time, entry-level position with a hybrid schedule, reporting onsite three days per week and working remotely two days per week.
The Science Communications Specialist (SCS) will support scientific meetings and electronic reviews through document coordination, tracking, and quality control. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals with a science background who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a regulated scientific environment.
Responsibilities
Provide logistical and administrative support for scientific committee meetings and electronic reviews
Prepare, organize, and distribute meeting materials, regulatory documents, and summaries
Create and maintain agendas, participant lists, contact lists, and other meeting documentation using standard templates
Conduct basic research and verify the accuracy of scientific and regulatory documents
Coordinate with government agency stakeholders, including National Institutes of Health (NIH) groups, to respond to inquiries and meet project timelines
Maintain the security and confidentiality of sensitive materials, including posting documents to secure systems and managing user access
Compile information from multiple sources and regularly update tracking tools and databases
Implement quality control measures and perform QC checks to ensure materials meet established standards and contract requirements
Complete assignments in accordance with corporate and departmental policies
Take on progressively more independent and complex responsibilities as experience allows
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field (required)
Strong attention to detail with demonstrated quality control skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
Compensation
Salary Range: $41,600.00 - $62,000.00 annually (equivalent to $20.00 - $30.00 per hour), based on experience and certifications.
