Job Opportunities Responsible for the day-to-day communications function of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.
Reports to the Supervisor of Radio Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls
Obtains and enters information on calls for service
Dispatches, maintains contact and communicates with field units
Uses the mapping system
Provides necessary information when requested
Enters information into computer systems
Performs GCIC operations
Performs multiple types of CAD entries
Performs other related duties, as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
Knowledge of the geography and roads of the county
Knowledge of law enforcement and communications center procedures
Skills in oral and written communication
Skills in public relations
Skills in computer operations
Ability to compose and perform multi-tasks in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass all drug screenings
Must hold current GCIC certification or be able to attain
Must hold Georgia POST Communications Officer certification or be able to attain
