
Account Manager - Resin

Overview As the Account Representative for West Michigan, you will spearhead resin-based product sales by cultivating and expanding relationships with existing customers while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts—understanding their resin needs, supply chain challenges, and growth objectives—to deliver tailored solutions that drive market share and profitability.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for sales, enabling them to build lasting relationships with customers.
Responsibilities Monitor sales performance against goals, analyze margin drivers, and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.
Build & nurture a robust sales pipeline.
Identify high-potential prospects, conduct outreach campaigns, and qualify leads to ensure consistent deal flow.
Craft territory plans with clear milestones, track expenses, and update CRM data to provide accurate, real-time visibility into opportunities.
Collaborate with Technical & Customer Service teams
Partner with technical specialists to address product specifications and coordinate with customer service to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Engage stakeholders at all levels to deliver solutions
Lead presentations and negotiations with decision-makers, fostering trust and aligning on long-term partnership goals.
Achieve revenue & gross-margin targets
Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive sales growth.
Identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions to meet those needs effectively.
Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the benefits of our offerings.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement promotional strategies that enhance sales performance.
Track sales metrics and prepare reports on performance against targets.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required in Plastics or Polymer Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or related discipline.
3+ years B2B, face-to-face sales (industrial/commodity preferred)
Strong problem-solving, presentation & communication skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel & Outlook
Self-motivated, organized & customer-focused
Valid driver’s license & willingness to travel
Primarily remote; occasional on-site work/meetings.
Occasional travel (car, bus or plane)
Strong customer service skills with a focus on building rapport and trust with clients.
Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads and track progress.
Compensation Package Up to $150K base (DOE) + commission
