Role Overview
This role contributes to Wawanesa’s success by designing exceptional digital experiences for customers, brokers, and employees. You will collaborate with business partners, agile teams, and stakeholders to transform user needs, requirements, and creative strategy into cohesive digital experiences that support the Wawanesa brand.
Key Responsibilities
Design user interfaces and user flows based on requirements and stakeholder feedback
Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
Conduct end-to-end UX analysis of digital platforms to improve usability and engagement
Collaborate with Solution Analysts to review product requirements and provide UX feedback
Participate in agile planning activities and sprint processes
Mentor junior designers and ensure adherence to design standards and best practices
Work with development teams to support HTML and CSS templating
Diagnose and resolve browser and device display issues
Estimate and track design tasks and deliverables
Lead user research activities including usability testing, A/B testing, interviews, and contextual inquiries
Analyze product metrics using tools such as Medallia DXA and Google Analytics to understand user behavior
Collaborate with the Member Experience (MX) team to align with customer insights
Partner with Marketing and Communications teams to maintain brand consistency
Improve UX processes, documentation, templates, and design standards
Stay current with emerging UX technologies and design methodologies
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or equivalent experience
6–12 years of experience designing and integrating user interfaces into production applications
Experience designing end-to-end digital products such as e-commerce platforms, subscription services, mobile apps, or consumer platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain UX value to diverse stakeholders
Experience with data-informed design including A/B testing and funnel optimization
Experience designing AI-enhanced user experiences (recommendations, personalization, chat/voice interfaces, automation, predictive features)
Ability to translate AI/ML capabilities into intuitive user workflows
Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
Ability to gain stakeholder alignment and negotiate design decisions
Experience collaborating across cross-functional product teams

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 CAD
