About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President for Strategic Communications and Narrative. The successful candidate will be a visionary and collaborative leader responsible for developing and managing comprehensive communication and narrative strategies. The focus of these strategies is to amplify community-driven solutions, shift beliefs and power, and drive systems change to advance racial and health equity, as well as health access for marginalized populations. The role demands a creative and accomplished executive with a proven track record in leading social change campaigns, deep experience in change management, and a strong background in philanthropy. The VP will also be expected to have established, trusted relationships across the health, equity, philanthropy, and policy sectors in California. As the VP of Strategic Communications and Narrative, the ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for the company's vision, a committed team leader, and an exceptional spokesperson. They will lead a team that provides a full range of communication and narrative functions and will work in close partnership with leadership and programming staff. The role is pivotal in challenging the conventional wisdom that medical settings and individual choices are the sole determinants of health, and in promoting the belief that health is influenced by factors in neighborhoods, schools, and through prevention. The VP will be a credible and influential voice among diverse stakeholders and partners, and will be instrumental in driving the company's mission to expand access to affordable, quality health care and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.
