Golf Course Attendant

Oversee and interact with daily golf patrons in a fun, positive, and professional manner while managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, and providing other services to ensure an exceptional golf experience for the public. Assist in supervising on-call employees and volunteers. Observe and enforce safe behaviors while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and excellent customer service to all visitors and participants. Employee may work a flexible schedule which will include evening hours and weekends. General direction and oversight are provided by the Golf Course Recreation Coordinator. Leadership - Community Comply with the City of Walla Walla's work safety standards and procedures. Respond quickly to emergency situations. Prepare golf carts for use; cleans, services, and positions carts; set up any equipment needed; and prepare merchandise prior to the start of each shift. Wear golf-appropriate attire (e.g., Polo style shirt, sporty business pants, shorts or skirt). Attend all mandatory training, complete accurate reports of behavior issues, accidents, and incidents. General cashiering, tee sheet data entry, assist with accounting for fees collected and keeping clerical records. Assist with tournaments and special events. May perform routing custodial and labor work to maintain neat and orderly golf course and building conditions. Performs miscellaneous, minor maintenance, and labor tasks on the golf course under all weather conditions. Advises golfers of schedules of play and waiting times, course conditions, and course rules. Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public; provide information as appropriate and excellent customer service maintaining a positive attitude. May assist in serving food, beverages, and alcoholic beverages in the club house and/or throughout the golf course. Other Job Functions

General first aid knowledge and the ability to respond appropriately to an emergency. Knowledge of golf course. Interest and experience in working with community members in a caring and patient manner. Operate standard office machines such as computers, word processing and spreadsheet program software, electronic mail systems, internet applications, calculators, copiers, etc. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including ability to follow oral and written instructions. Tools And Equipment Used

Walking and standing for extended periods of time; seeing to monitor activities, hearing and speaking to exchange information; repetitive hand movements; intermittently sit, kneel, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, jump, run, reach, push, pull and lift up to 30 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance; exposure to fumes and vapors; exposure to sunlight, heat, noise, dust, wind and pollens. Work Environment

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to chemicals, sun or inclement weather conditions; contact with program participants and the public; exposure to noise and distractions; possible contact with dissatisfied individuals; possible exposure to airborne illnesses and bodily fluids. Required Minimum Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age; background check completed; Valid Driver's License; Food Handlers Card & MAST alcohol training or obtain within sixty (60) days of hire. Experience in hospitality industry and/or demonstrated customer service skills. Desired Qualifications

CPR and First Aid. Bilingual in Spanish. Golf player. Ability to provide Golf instruction.
