Job Purpose: Summer Resident Assistants (RA) work for Residence Life and assist students staying in the Residence Halls or UW Apartments over summer break. Resident Assistants work our front service desks providing excellent customer service, plan & execute programs (events) for residents, serve on-call, manage administrative tasks (check-ins/outs, paperwork, etc.) and act as a trustworthy resource for residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Be available and accessible to residents, spend adequate time in the community, and regularly interact with residents. Staff front desks ensuring safety/security and providing excellent customer service. Serve on-call and perform duty functions to enforce policies, promote safety, and serve as a resource to the community. Plan, implement, and document regular programming (events). Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings. Create a welcoming environment for all students. Assist with all administrative, facility, and operational tasks. Role model positive personal, academic, and job-related behaviors. Portray a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and pride for the RA position. Review, understand, and uphold all items outlined in UW Apartment & Residence Hall Policies & Procedures, Summer Work Agreement, and Student Code of Conduct. Perform other duties as assigned. Competencies: Initiative Innovation Collaboration Individual Leadership Integrity Minimum Qualifications: RAs must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of employment. Live on-campus for the duration of the employment term and adhere to all Housing & Residence Life policies and procedures. Have a positive financial, academic, and student conduct status with Residence Life, Housing, & Dining Services and the University of Wyoming. Be available to work a minimum of 25 scheduled hours per week. Pass a required Criminal Background Check Required Application Materials: Complete the online application.
