The Role
Bronx and Banco is seeking an Associate Technical Fashion Designer / Product Developer to support our NYC team across high-volume sampling, runway development, and production execution. This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for fit integrity, construction quality, and technical accuracy from first proto through final SMS. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically confident, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires strong ownership, clear factory communication, and the ability to manage multiple styles while maintaining luxury standards.
Key Responsibilities
Own fit, measurement accuracy, and sample quality from initial proto through final SMS Measure samples and maintain precise, clearly annotated spec sheets with tolerances Lead fit sessions and track revisions across multiple development stages Review patterns, construction methods, and workmanship to ensure elevated quality standards Build and maintain comprehensive tech packs, measurement charts, BOMs, and grading notes Partner closely with China-based teams and offshore factories to manage daily sample follow-ups and QC Support alignment between runway sizing and commercial sizing standards Proactively identify and escalate risks related to fit, fabric performance, construction, or timing Support preparation of samples for fittings, shoots, and runway, ensuring flawless presentation Manage fast sample turnaround in a high-volume development cycle
Requirements
3–7 years of experience in Technical Design or Product Development within womenswear Deep understanding of fit, pattern terminology, garment construction, and sewing techniques Advanced measurement skills with exceptional attention to detail Proven experience working with offshore factories and compressed timelines Strong Excel proficiency and structured tech pack workflow management Highly organized, proactive, and calm under pressure Ability to manage multiple styles simultaneously with accuracy and accountability Luxury, contemporary, or eveningwear experience strongly preferred Willingness to travel 2 times a year for 3 weeks.
