Director of Practice Development
New Jersey Dental Association, River Edge, NJ, United States
About Us
We are a growing multi-specialty dental group based in Bergen County, NJ, with practices spanning periodontics, general dentistry, and aesthetic medicine. Our team of board-certified specialists is dedicated to exceptional patient care — and we are now investing in building a strong referral network across Northern New Jersey and Rockland County, NY.
This is a newly created, high-impact role with significant earning potential and direct visibility to leadership.
The Opportunity We are looking for our first Director of Practice Development — a relationship-focused professional who will be the face of our group to the general dentist and medical provider community. If you thrive meeting new people, love building genuine connections, and want a role where your income grows directly with your performance, this is for you.
What You Will Do
Build and maintain referral relationships with general dentists and primary care providers across Bergen, Passaic, Essex, and Morris counties in NJ and Rockland County, NY
Visit GP offices regularly to introduce our specialty services, deliver educational materials, and nurture ongoing relationships
Organize and host quarterly lunch-and-learn events at referring provider offices
Track all office visits, referral activity, and contact status in a CRM or tracking system
Report weekly to practice leadership on outreach activity, warm leads, and referrals received
Attend local dental study clubs, CE events, and networking opportunities to expand your reach
Collaborate with our team on GP-targeted marketing materials
Who You Are
Outgoing, personable, and confident — you are comfortable walking into a new office without an appointment
Self-motivated and independent — you manage your own calendar and stay productive without supervision
Highly organized — you track every contact, follow up consistently, and never let a warm lead go cold
Professional in appearance and communication — you represent us every single day
Comfortable with dental or medical terminology (we will train the right person)
Valid NJ driver's license and reliable vehicle — daily driving across Northern NJ is required
Background in dental assisting, dental coordination, pharma/medical device sales, or healthcare outreach is a strong plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $60,000
Performance incentive: 2% of production generated from new referring providers you establish
Total compensation potential: $80,000–$100,000+ based on performance
Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate
Marketing expense budget for office lunches, branded gifts, and outreach materials
Flexible schedule — you manage your own calendar
Compensation example:
Establish 15 active referring GPs each sending 2 patients per month at an average case value of $3,500 — your 2% incentive adds approximately $25,200 on top of your $60,000 base.
