Job Title: Salon Business Consultant
Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Brainerd, Alexandria, St. Cloud, Nisswa, Park Rapids, Sartell, Little Falls, Aitken Minnesota (MN).
Ideal candidate would reside in or near the following cities: Brainerd MN.
Uncapped Commission , vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits!
Main Responsibilities Essential Function
Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred. The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers with a focus on helping grow salons’ overall sales. The Consultant will meet and strive to achieve sales goals by leveraging manufacturer education and sales resources. Growth is driven by opening new doors and selling approved beauty products while introducing new products and concepts. The Consultant will actively use social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and any licensed beauty professional.
Primary Duties:
Grow the Business:
Identify key accounts within the territory and establish an efficient route to grow and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships.
Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs and concepts.
Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors, including achieving corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours).
Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within the salon.
Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.
Strictly comply with procedures regarding processing returns, including pickup of returns and required documentation. Complete assignments and projects in a timely manner.
Work with all areas of business, including customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary functions.
Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
Manage all administrative aspects, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information and activity for the assigned territory in salesforce.com.
Attract and retain salon clientele by using social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.
Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes.
Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans and any needed assistance.
Grow Team and Culture:
Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms and social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers.
Attend all meetings, functions and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
Be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, handling back stock, and other physical activities as required.
Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster change management throughout the team.
Grow Yourself:
Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow; own personal development and grow digital and social media techniques to generate new customers and foster existing relationships.
Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships.
Allocate and optimize time to participate in learning using available tools and resources.
Remain agile to changes in the market while building industry knowledge to adapt to a competitive market.
Increase product, industry, and market knowledge.
Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.
Experience and Skills Required
High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Minimum of one (1) year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
Must live within the assigned territory.
Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.
Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines and books of business.
Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle. Experience with iPad is a plus.
Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.
This position requires local travel within the territory and may include overnight travel and some weekend work for shows, conventions, and educational events.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are necessary.
Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours based on business needs.
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.
Clear and effective communication, verbally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements The work environment involves typical safety precautions in offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles.
