Vaco is currently hiring for a
REMOTE Sr Tax Analyst
position at a great organization in South Florida. Primary Purpose: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations while supporting strategic tax planning initiatives. Manage tax reporting, research, and analysis to minimize risk, optimize tax strategies, and uphold the institution’s mission and financial integrity. Responsibilities
Manage nonresident alien tax withholding and reporting, ensuring correct withholding and treaty eligibility Conduct tax research and prepare memorandums documenting conclusions Review independent contractor classifications and determine tax implications for fringe benefits, grants, awards, and other payments Oversee Foreign Gift & Contract reporting, coordinating across departments and ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements Advise departments on tax implications of new programs, grants, payroll, contracts, and procurement Develop and implement tax compliance procedures, internal controls, and best practices Assist with preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income and sales/use tax Monitor and communicate changes in tax laws impacting the institution Lead special projects as assigned and support other financial operations initiatives Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
Master’s in Tax, JD, or LLM preferred CPA preferred Minimum
5 years of tax accounting experience
in higher education or nonprofit organizations Strong knowledge of
federal and state tax regulations, nonresident alien tax rules, fringe benefits, and worker classification Experience with
IRS Form 990
and higher education-specific tax issues Proficiency in
tax software, ERP systems, Excel, and Word Excellent
analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a
complex organizational environment
