Our ideal Recertification Specialist will have:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification Occupancy Specialist (COS) certification preferred.
Strong working knowledge of LIHTC and HUD rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with tenant tracking or property management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
Ability to pass a background check and maintain professionalism, dependability, and punctuality.
Our Recertification Specialist will:
Manage and coordinate all intake and recertification activities to ensure compliance with agency goals, LIHTC, and HUD requirements.
Greet and assist residents, applicants, and visitors in professional, courteous, and timely manner.
Review, document, and update EIV reports while maintaining strict resident confidentiality.
Prepare, process, and maintain accurate resident files, including initial and annual recertification packets.
Provide clear, accurate information to residents regarding reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.
Ensure high-quality customer service and positive staff/resident interactions aligned with agency standards.
Assist with generating reports, including grant and compliance-related reports, and refer applicants to appropriate community resources as needed.
About Us Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is a diverse non-profit organization that specializes in the development and management of affordable housing and senior resident living communities. The Intake/Recertification is responsible for the overall administration of the Intake/Recertification process. Assist managers with ensuring policies and procedures are followed, ensure consistency, accuracy, efficiency and compliance with LIHTC/HUD regulations and Agency policies. Responsible for conducting annual and interim recertifications and rent changes for program participants in a timely manner and in accordance with HUD/LIHTC guidelines. Responsible for assisting the Village Property Manager and Village Assistant Manager with accurate and efficient processing of phone calls, applications, lease agreements and administrative coordination for the development.
