Position: Communications Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Start Date: July 1, 2026
FLSA status:
Part Time- (10 hours/week July 1-31, 15-20 hours/week after August 1, 2026)
Compensation:
$30/hour

Ensures consistent, high quality organizational communications with the 825 community internally and externally.

Ensures consistent, high quality organizational communications with the 825 community, in order to increase public awareness and support of the organization.

Responsibilities:
Internal:
Develop annual content calendar / annual communications strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive organizational communications strategy
Partners with Program Staff to develop marketing strategies for 825 Arts’s events and programs
Ensure staff, board, interns and volunteers have access to the necessary learning materials, in order to clearly understand and articulate 825 Arts’s mission, vision and values statements through creation, staff training on and maintenance of said materials.
Collaboratively ensure that appropriate staff, interns, and volunteers have a working knowledge of all current 825 programming and activities.
Manage project consultants, external resources, timelines, and budgets to meet internal and external customer expectations.
Maintains relationships with contractors, including photographers, videographers, designers, etc.
Manage, oversee, and administrate major communication systems
Including Google Admin, Eventbrite, Social Media, Mailchimp, GoDaddy, Wordpress, and Squarespace
External:
Ensure a strong 825 Arts brand internally and externally, with consistent messaging throughout all programs.
Includes supporting renters in marketing their work, printing signage for the building (internal and external), and more.
Ensure documentation and publication (photos, videos, etc.) of events and programming as well as photo image release/compliance.
Develop communication materials promoting 825 events and programming
Responsible for analog and digital communications strategies and execution
Maintain existing audience-facing materials (website, newsletter, social media) for accuracy and functionality
Work with the Associate Executive Director to manage audience database information
Represents 825 in the community to the press, funders and other strategic Partners
Actively seeks out potential partners in communication (for reciprocal marketing, volunteer recruitment, press publication, etc)
Enhances community awareness of, and commitment to, the work of the organization
Evaluate marketing systems and assess efficacy to best reach 825 Arts’s audience
Other duties as necessary
Knowledge Required:
Professional outreach skills: ability to cold email strangers, talk at tabling events, work with artists etc.
Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and any other social media systems that the Manager sees fit to include in 825 Arts’s marketing work
This includes working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, or another social media scheduler
Working knowledge of Canva or another editing software
Working knowledge of Google Suite
Includes Google Admin: Will be responsible for managing user emails, system access, and security settings.
Working knowledge of best practices for paper printing
Includes printing for banners, posters, flyers, and more.
Working knowledge of Mailchimp
Working knowledge of OR willingness to learn website management/design
Includes: Wordpress, Avada Themes, Squarespace, GoDaddy
MUST be able to handle website emergencies in conjunction with partners (Think Causality, GoDaddy support, Squarespace support, Wordpress support)
Working knowledge OR willingness to learn Eventbrite
Willingness to learn Airtable
Working knowledge a plus!
Willingness to learn video editing software (Adobe, Apple, Lightworks, ClipChamp)
