Upland Brewing Company — Brand & Field Marketing Intern Position Title: Brand & Field Marketing Intern Part-Time, Paid Internship Program Overview The Upland Brewing Company Sales & Marketing Internship is a hands-on opportunity designed for Indiana University students interested in brand marketing, content creation, and on-premise activation within the craft beer industry. This role supports real-world campaigns tied to Upland’s partnerships, events, and retail presence — especially IU Athletics and Bloomington-area activations. The intern will collaborate directly with the marketing and sales teams to assist with content creation, event execution, brand storytelling, and market support. This role is ideal for students looking to gain practical experience in social media marketing, graphic design, event marketing, and brand strategy. Compensation & Time Commitment Schedule: 10 hours per week Duration: May – January (approx. 40 weeks)Program pauses during school breaks, holidays, and agreed time off Estimated Total Hours: 400 hours Key Responsibilities Marketing & Content Creation Assist in developing social media content including graphics, short-form video, and photography Support campaign brainstorming and execution for seasonal promotions and IU-related initiatives Help maintain brand consistency across digital platforms Capture content at events, tailgates, and brewery locations Assist with IU tailgates, sampling events, and local activations Support on-site brand execution and experiential marketing efforts Help coordinate promotional materials and brand assets Work alongside sales team to understand market presence and retail strategy Creative & Digital Support Create graphics using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools Assist with light video editing and social media formatting Support internal marketing projects, presentations, and content organization Required Qualifications Must be 21+ years old by program start date Current Indiana University student Strong time-management and organizational skills Comfortable appearing on camera and participating in social content Willingness to work select IU tailgates, events, and occasional evenings/weekends Passion for marketing, storytelling, and creative collaboration Preferred Qualifications Major or coursework in Marketing, Media, Graphic Design, Communications, Advertising, or related field Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and/or Canva Basic video editing and content creation skills Familiarity with social media platforms and trends Interest in brand marketing, events, or digital marketing Learning Outcomes & Professional Development Brand marketing strategy within a regional craft brewery Event marketing and experiential activations Content creation workflows from ideation to execution Sales and marketing collaboration in a real-world business environment Professional portfolio development with real campaign assets Internal Timeline March Finalize role description and approvals Publish internship listing (IU job boards, LinkedIn, internal channels) Promote via social media and campus partnerships April Select candidate and extend offer Program Timeline (May – January) Spring Launch (May) Training and onboarding Intro to brand voice, tools, and content expectations Initial event & job shadowing Increased focus on content creation Brewery events and market support Skill development in design and video editing Fall Activation (August – November) IU tailgates and major campaign support Collaboration with sales team on market activations Winter Wrap-Up (December – January) Performance review and program recap Transition planning for next intern cycle Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal Upland Sales & Marketing Intern is creative, dependable, and excited about storytelling through beer, sports, and community.
