Your role and responsibilities As Technical Marketing Associate, you will provide a crucial contribution to the intersection of our technical practitioners, researchers, and product team. IBM Quantum employs some of the most brilliant minds in Quantum Information Science, and works with the most sophisticated clients exploring solutions in this space. As part of the Quantum Marketing organization, you will interact with these clients, surfacing the most exciting research taking place today, and using those advances to develop value frameworks and case studies which clearly communicate the value proposition of our technology and offering. You will maintain the highest accuracy and rigor, representing and translating the voice of the developer and researcher as we develop technical marketing materials. This early-career role is designed for candidates with a strong technical foundation and a passion for communicating complex scientific ideas. You will help translate quantum research, systems, and software capabilities into clear, compelling technical content for researchers, practitioners, and enterprise audiences who make up our growing ecosystem. Responsibilities Create technical content for researchers and developers Develop technical content explaining IBM Quantum systems, software, research breakthroughs, and use cases. Produce blogs, tutorials, technical briefs, and research explainers that are accurate, accessible, and scientifically grounded. Collaborate with technical and research teams Work with quantum researchers, systems engineers, Qiskit developers, product management, and developer relations to build presentations, demos, videos, and technical collateral. Support IBM Quantum advocacy and storytelling Help communicate IBM Quantum’s technical leadership to academic researchers, developers, and practitioner audiences. Assist with content for academic collaborations, industry partnerships, and community engagement initiatives. Enable sales and field teams with technical materials Create technical slides, one-pagers, and training content to support customer and research engagements. Incorporate feedback from field teams to improve technical clarity and relevance. Support product and research launches Contribute technical content aligned with system releases, roadmap milestones, and scientific announcements. Track the quantum computing landscape Monitor competitors, research trends, and ecosystem developments to inform messaging and positioning. Required technical and professional expertise 0-3 years of experience in technical communications, research, software development, product marketing, or related technical roles (internships, academic research, and open-source contributions count) Foundational understanding of quantum computing concepts such as: Quantum circuits Basic quantum algorithms and error mitigation Quantum hardware and software stacks (e.g., Qiskit or similar frameworks) Ability to quickly learn emerging scientific and computing technologies Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides Comfort presenting technical material to internal teams and external technical audiences Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content projects Preferred technical and professional experience BS or higher degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Quantum Information Science Experience working with academic researchers, scientific publications, or technical communities Familiarity with scientific publishing, conferences, and peer-reviewed research workflows Experience with open-source communities or developer advocacy in deep-tech domains Exposure to High Performance Computing or related research environments.
