Position Specific Description
As the Senior Project Manager, Competitive Intel - South + East Region , you will be the expert on competitor activity, interconnection trends, and market dynamics within the South/East regions ( ERCOT, MISO South, PJM, ISO-NE and NYISO ). Your insights will shape portfolio-wide strategies by equipping development, origination, and M&A teams with actionable intelligence to optimize project siting, reduce attrition, and improve speed to market and project returns. This high-impact role ensures NEER teams have the intelligence needed to make smarter, faster, and more strategic decisions.
What You’ll Do:
Track and analyze competitor pipelines, interconnection queues, and permitting activity to identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
Assess regional transmission trends, grid congestion, regulatory shifts, and market dynamics to refine competitive positioning.
Deliver data-driven insights that influence development priorities, site selection, and market entry decisions.
Collaborate with origination, development, and transmission teams to integrate intelligence into decision-making.
Structure and maintain intelligence in a way that is accessible, actionable, and scalable through internal tools and platforms.
What You Bring:
3+ years of experience in energy (renewables, oil and gas, etc) project development, transactions, or competitive or market intelligence.
Deep understanding of regional transmission and interconnection processes, permitting and regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics within your region
A natural curiosity for uncovering competitive insights and translating data into actionable strategies.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization and market modeling.
Proficiency in market research tools, interconnection databases, pricing and revenue modeling, and GIS a plus

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Fosters external relationships with customers, thirdparties and members of the community
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad/GED
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
