Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced
GIS Architect
to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of
enterprise geospatial solutions .
The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining
GIS architecture strategies , integrating GIS platforms with enterprise systems, and supporting
web and mobile GIS applications . This role requires strong expertise in
geospatial technologies, cloud platforms, spatial data management, and solution architecture , along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
Define and implement
enterprise GIS architecture strategies
ensuring scalability, performance, and security Design and architect
end-to-end GIS platforms , including:
System integrations Data pipelines Services architecture
Develop and deploy
GIS applications and tools using Python Build
web-based GIS applications and geospatial solutions Cloud & Infrastructure Management
Design and manage
cloud-based GIS infrastructure
on platforms such as:
AWS Azure Google Cloud
Utilize services like:
Compute (EC2, VMs) Storage (S3, Blob Storage) Serverless (Lambda) Containers (EKS / Kubernetes)
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of GIS systems Spatial Data Management & Analytics
Work with
geospatial data formats :
Vector and Raster data
Manage enterprise geodatabases:
PostgreSQL / PostGIS SQL Server Oracle
Perform
advanced spatial analysis , including:
Clustering Spatial regression
Automate GIS workflows using Python libraries such as:
GDAL GeoPandas ArcPy
Integration & Enterprise Collaboration
Design and implement
API-based integrations
(REST/SOAP) between GIS and enterprise systems Collaborate with:
Infrastructure teams Database teams Cloud engineering teams
Ensure secure, scalable, and efficient system integrations Deployment & Performance Optimization
Support deployment and tuning of:
GIS servers Portals Geodatabases
Monitor system performance and optimize for scalability and reliability Leadership & Governance
Provide architectural guidance to:
GIS developers Analysts QA teams
Define and enforce:
Coding standards Design principles Deployment best practices
Lead technical design reviews (HLD/LLD) and solution approvals Stakeholder Management & Strategy
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and define requirements Work with PMO and delivery teams to plan
GIS roadmaps and scaling strategies Ensure alignment of GIS solutions with
enterprise IT standards and business goals Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in
GIS / Geospatial Technologies Strong expertise in:
GIS architecture and solution design Python-based GIS development Spatial data management and analysis
Hands-on experience with:
GIS platforms (Esri ArcGIS or similar) Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) Geodatabases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle)
