
Corporate Tax Manager

The Manager, Corporate Tax serves as a key member of the Mactac Finance leadership team and is responsible for leading the company's global income and property tax function-including U.S. federal, state, foreign income tax planning, filing, compliance, and reporting in a multi‑site manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role owns the ASC 740 tax provision, oversees global tax compliance, and manages tax audits.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax returns for foreign owned North American group in coordination with external advisors.
Ensuring timely and accurate filing of federal, state, local and foreign income tax returns across multiple states and local jurisdictions.
Monitoring and interpreting federal, state and local tax regulations, filing deadlines, and rule changes to maintain full compliance.
Ensuring proper record retention and documentation for audit‑ready files.
Approving and coordinating income tax payments, both domestic and foreign, to ensure they are made accurately and on time.
Developing annual income tax budgets and forecasts, including accruals, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.
Being accountable for the ASC 740 income tax provision for the North American group in coordination with external advisors, including reconciling income tax accounts and ensuring proper accounting treatment.
Managing the preparation and review of all personal property tax filings, including ensuring timely and accurate filing of real and personal property tax filings with external advisors, as well as timely and accurate payments.
Maintaining tax calendar, ensuring document retention, and tracking all tax filings and payments.
Negotiating and resolving audit findings to minimize tax exposure.
Developing and implementing policies to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with local laws.
Managing and/or assisting in the preparation of other state and local tax filings, as needed.
Overseeing income tax compliance for subsidiaries in Canada and Mexico.
Conducting tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives, acquisitions, restructurings, and other special projects.
Managing all tax examinations at the federal, state and local level and managing responses to all tax notices.
Being accountable for annual transfer pricing documentation for North American group.
Developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimize both direct and indirect taxes.
Identifying tax-saving strategies or incentives, such as abatements, exemptions, and negotiated incentives, and managing ongoing filings to ensure continuation of abatements or incentives.
Managing all third-party advisors and negotiating fees.
As a member of the Finance Management team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans and business initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is required.
Minimum of 5 years prior experience in corporate tax is required.
Prior experience working in a multi-state manufacturing organization is required. Experience with manufacturing entities that have foreign distribution subsidiaries, including Mexico and Canada, is desirable.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Science in Taxation (MST) preferred.
The ideal candidate brings depth of knowledge in
S. federal and state income tax, ASC 740 and U.S. tax. Knowledge or experience with transfer pricing related to tangible goods is desirable. Experience with fixed asset tax is preferred. Prior experiencing utilizing Sage Fixed Assets software is desirable. Prior experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred. Advanced in the use of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and supports others in developing solutions. Must be a confident and adept decision maker and capable of making decisions with time and information constraints. Ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis. Ability to analyze data and provide useful information to support operation and business decision making. Requires ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.
