Employee Relations Specialist 2
The Employee Relations Specialist 2 is a seasoned professional and a core member of the Caliber Teammate Relations Center of Excellence (TR COE) team. This role is responsible for independently managing moderate employee relations cases, from intake through resolution. The ER Specialist 2 acts as a primary point of contact for managers on disciplinary issues, provides expert guidance on policy interpretation and implementation, and ensures compliance with all employment laws. This position requires sound judgment, and a strategic approach to problem-solving, enhancing our company culture and supporting our purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life. Key Responsibilities Independently manage and resolve a high volume of moderate employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, attendance issues, and initial stages of conflict resolution. Assist and may conduct thorough, impartial, and timely investigations into allegations (e.g., employee misconduct, policy violations), including interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, documenting findings, and recommending outcomes. Provide guidance and consultation to managers and supervisors on the consistent application of company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws. Identify and recommend improvements to existing ER processes, policies, and manager resources to enhance efficiency and consistency. Prepare case summaries, disciplinary documentation, and contribute to aggregate reporting of ER metrics and trends to HR leadership. Assist the ER Partners in ER cases and in the developing and delivering of training sessions for managers on basic ER topics. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; or a combination of professional certifications and extensive, relevant work experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and skills. 3+ years of progressive experience in a dedicated Employee Relations (ER) or HR Business Partner role, with a focus on independently managing complex caseloads and leading internal investigations. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. High level of discretion and confidentiality required when handling sensitive employee matters. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead sensitive conversations and investigations with objectivity and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing case management systems (e.g., HR Acuity) and HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday).
