
Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Golf Course Superintendent in the daily operation and long-term care of the golf course. This role works closely with the Second Assistant Superintendent and is responsible for maintaining high standards in turf health, leading and developing staff, and ensuring the course is consistently presented at an elite level.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily golf course maintenance including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control
Assist in implementing agronomic programs to maintain optimal turf conditions
Supervise, train, and motivate grounds staff to ensure efficiency and quality
Manage irrigation systems, monitor moisture levels, and troubleshoot issues
Support course improvement projects, renovations, and enhancements
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
Maintain accurate records and assist with member communication as needed
3–5 years of golf course maintenance experience (1–2 years in a leadership role preferred)
Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred
Strong knowledge of turf care, irrigation systems, and equipment operation
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Florida Pesticide Applicator’s License required or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
Valid Florida driver’s license
