
Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing the organization’s Strategic Marketing Plan. This person transforms strategy into action: building email campaigns, writing social copy, designing Canva graphics, managing paid and donated advertisements, and tracking analytics. Working closely with the Director of Development and Communications and the Executive Director, this person partners with staff across the organization and our Marketing Committee to execute thoughtful, consistent, and creative communications. This role is especially important as we move to Hopkins and begin our renaming. The Marketing Coordinator will help power the communications behind our move, grand opening, and the rollout of our veterinary services. About Carver Scott Humane Society

Create and manage engaging content across social media (5–7 posts/week, 1–2 Reels/week), ensuring a consistent, warm, and action-oriented brand voice Design graphics and maintain a scalable Canva template library to support organizational needs Recruit, train, and support Social Media volunteers while maintaining brand consistency Plan, write, and execute email campaigns (2–3/month) and manage audience segmentation, automation, and CRM data hygiene Support donor communications and stewardship through thoughtful, timely outreach Maintain and update the website, including landing pages, blog content, and SEO optimization Ensure clear calls-to-action across digital platforms and support compelling animal profiles Manage Google Ad Grants and paid/donated advertising, including campaign creation, optimization, and performance tracking Track and report on marketing performance, including UTM management, Google Analytics, and monthly/quarterly reporting Support marketing for events and community engagement, including promotion, on-site coverage, and follow-up Lead media relations efforts and support the creation of branded materials and print collateral Contribute to cross-functional projects, including the organization’s relocation, renaming, and growth of veterinary services Take on additional projects as needed to support the organization’s mission and evolving priorities Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field and/or 2–4 years of relevant experience (nonprofit or animal welfare preferred) Experience managing social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including content creation, scheduling, and engagement Proficiency with email marketing platforms (MailChimp preferred; similar tools acceptable) Experience with Squarespace or another website platform Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt voice across audiences and channels Proficiency in Canva (or similar) for social, email, and print design Photography and/or videography skills, especially short-form video (Reels) Working knowledge of Google Ads (Search) or willingness to complete certification within 60 days Basic understanding of Google Analytics and UTM tracking Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment where roles are flexible Passion for animal welfare and alignment with the CSHS mission Preferred
Familiarity with CRM/donor management systems (Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce Nonprofit) Experience managing Google Ad Grants accounts specifically (compliance requirements differ from standard Google Ads) Experience with nonprofit fundraising campaigns (Give to the Max Day, Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals) Local knowledge of the Twin Cities southwest metro area (Hopkins, Chaska, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie) Experience managing volunteers or working with volunteer content contributors Physical Demands
