We are seeking a Community Relations Manager who is passionate about community engagement, advocacy, and building meaningful partnerships that strengthen support for services addressing homelessness. This position is perfect for someone early in their career who has experience engaging the community, advocating for change, and building relationships across diverse groups. The Community Relations Manager serves as an ambassador for our organization, connecting with schools, businesses, civic groups, and community leaders while helping elevate advocacy efforts that impact homeless services and policy solutions.

Community Outreach & Education

Educate community members, schools, businesses, and civic organizations about our mission and services addressing homelessness

Deliver presentations and facilitate conversations that raise awareness and inspire community involvement

Relationship Building & Partnerships

Build and maintain partnerships with schools, businesses, faith communities, and local organizations

Cultivate community support through volunteer engagement and donor relationship development

Strengthen community awareness and engagement with the organization’s mission

Advocacy & Policy Engagement

Support advocacy efforts related to homeless services and public policy

Help educate community stakeholders about legislation and policies impacting homelessness

Participate in community conversations and initiatives that support equitable solutions

Community Engagement & Mission Promotion

Serve as a public-facing ambassador for IHS

Promote volunteer opportunities, fundraising efforts, and community involvement

Share the impact of our work and help connect people to ways they can contribute

Qualifications
1+ year of experience in community outreach, advocacy, nonprofit engagement, community organizing, or relationship building.

Experience working with community groups, schools, businesses, or nonprofit organizations.

Degree in Public Policy, Communications, Business or related field.

Must have strong communication and public speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage diverse audiences.

Aptitude in advocacy, policy issues, and social impact.
