Accounting Director

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Accounting Director to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $135,000 to $175,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for cost accounting by establishing standardized costing methods and ensuring consistent application across business units. Design and improve standard costing within the enterprise system and maintain clear documentation that supports accurate cost flows. Oversee close activities for inventory and cost accounting and ensure timely reporting journal entries disclosures and compliance with U S GAAP. Direct balance sheet reconciliations inventory valuations and cost analyses and identify risks discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. Partner with operations supply chain technology and finance to improve cost visibility support decisions and strengthen process accuracy. Requirements:
A Bachelor degree in accounting finance or a related field with a CPA preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience with proven results in inventory and cost accounting. Demonstrate prior leadership experience managing teams and guiding cross functional stakeholders. Work proficiently with enterprise resource planning systems and close management tools and use advanced spreadsheet skills. Operate with strong communication organization and problem solving abilities while meeting reporting deadlines. Qualifications:
Possess deep experience in standard costing variance analysis overhead absorption and inventory accounting. Maintain internal controls that support SOX readiness and provide audit ready documentation. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability automation and real time reporting capability. Ensure accurate inventory valuation by supporting physical counts analyzing shrinkage or spoilage and maintaining reliable records. Serve as a subject matter resource for cost accounting by training teams reviewing material master data and supporting pricing billing and compliance.
