The Senior Asset Management plays a critical role in overseeing the commercial and operational performance of a growing distributed generation (DG) solar portfolio. This position requires high-level monitoring and O&M coordination, serving as a strategic partner in maximizing asset value, financial budgeting, and long-term portfolio performance. Within an Independent Power Producer (IPP) environment, this role supports both technical and commercial asset management functions, ensuring assets operate in alignment with financial models, lender expectations, PPA requirements, and investor return thresholds. The Senior Asset Manager will: Lead performance monitoring initiatives across the fleet. Assist in the development of scalable systems and automation to support portfolio growth. Oversee commercial compliance and budget processes. Serve as a key liaison between Asset Management, Technical Asset Management, Operational Engineering, and Accounting. Support continuous process optimization to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy. Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Monitoring & Technical Performance Oversight Daily monitoring activities across the DG solar portfolio using platforms such as AlsoEnergy (or equivalent DAS systems). Assist in the development and maintain automated performance analytics tools. An understanding of Power BI to support internal reporting and executive visibility. Identify underperformance trends and proactively communicate revenue/budget impact. Track and quantify production losses, categorize root causes, and ensure corrective action plans are implemented. Investigate discrepancies between DAS production and utility meter data. 2. Commercial Asset Management Track asset performance against financial models and budget assumptions. Partner with Project Finance to reconcile actual vs. modeled revenue and operating expenses. Support revenue assurance by validating production data. Assist in evaluating contractual performance obligations under PPAs, O&M agreements, and EPC warranties. Monitor key commercial triggers. Identify revenue risks and propose mitigation strategies. 3. O&M Coordination & Accountability Serve as primary liaison for O&M providers. Communicate identified performance issues and track resolution timelines. Ensure O&M providers meet contractual obligations under O&M Agreements. Assist in reviewing service reports, corrective action plans, and preventative maintenance documentation. Support escalation protocols for recurring or high-impact outages. 4. Financial & Invoicing Oversight Review and validate O&M invoices against contract terms and site activity. Confirm scope alignment and reimbursable expenses. Coordinate with Accounting for accurate coding and timely processing. Support annual operating budget development and variance tracking. Assist with operating expense forecasting and cost trend analysis. 5. Variance Reporting & Executive Reporting Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly variance reports highlighting: Production vs. forecast Revenue variances Operational issues impacting yield Support lender and investor reporting requirements. Contribute to quarterly portfolio performance presentations. Maintain standardized reporting templates to improve efficiency and consistency. 6. Compliance & Regulatory Management Track compliance deliverables using compliance platform. Ensure assets remain in good standing. Support onboarding of new compliance elements such as shading analysis, testing documentation, and commissioning records. Maintain organized digital asset management folders for audit readiness. Preferred Skills

Experience with DG or C&I solar portfolios. Knowledge of solar PV system operations, inverter behavior, and performance ratios. Background in engineering, finance, and energy systems. Experience building data pipelines or centralized reporting frameworks. Qualifications

5+ years of experience in solar asset management, commercial operations, or energy infrastructure. Experience within an IPP, renewable developer, or DG solar platform strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with solar monitoring platforms (e.g., AlsoEnergy or equivalent). Experience reviewing O&M agreements and understanding commercial contract structures. Strong understanding of financial models (P50/P90 production assumptions, revenue modeling). Experience coordinating across cross-functional teams (Finance, Accounting, EPC, O&M, Engineering). Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. $145,000 - $160,000 a year
