Emergency Management Specialist
Responsible for assisting the development and implementation of programs related to emergency management operations. Subject to emergency recall. Essential duties include: Developing emergency response or management plans that minimize disruption related to, or allow the organization to respond appropriately to events impacting operations. Identifies and plans for potential risks based on the organization's industry and/or physical locations. Coordinating with other departments to ensure the readiness of emergency deployment equipment. Fulfilling necessary response duties in the absence of Manager, Emergency Management. Coordinating plans with federal, state, or local emergency management agencies, or first responders. Planning and executing drills or responses to simulated emergency situations. Overseeing the development and implementation of training activities related to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. Assisting in preparing the department budget in allocating resources and equipment for department programs and activities. Supporting department objectives of Emergency Management and programming in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies. Evaluating and communicating departmental policies and procedures. Performing other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Education and experience: Minimum education: Bachelor's degree Minimum years of direct experience: 3 Details: Related experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Licensing/certifications: Valid driver's license. Maintain Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA). Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training. Additional security levels required: Yes Airfield driving: This position requires driving on the airfield and airfield ramps. Demonstrated skill in: Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating and advocating, both orally and in writing. Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets. Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups. Demonstrated knowledge of: Airport operations, policies and procedures. Applicable AOC Systems. Emergency Management principles.
