Assistant Day Camp Director
Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Position Type: Seasonal Full Time Job Shift: Day Category: Camp Description
Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday, Day Shift This position is responsible for: Plans, and provides activities and childcare services for school-age children participating in the After School and/or Summer Day Camp Programs; plans, develops, and facilitates recreational activities and play time; prepares and maintains program records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of Club's property. Assists the Summer Day Camp Director with day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities: Provides leadership and constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. Assists the Director to ensure activities for school age children; ensures that activities are age appropriate, stimulating, fun and safe for the children. Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents, community leaders and host organizations and agencies; ensures all obligations are fulfilled in meeting the requirements of any written or verbal agreements. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to observe children and ensure their safety. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Assists in the Registration and orientation of participants and parents. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in-service training sessions. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, 45 hours required DCF School Age Training AND Two years' experience teaching child development programs in a church or preschool OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
