Junior Business Development Advisor

The industry is being reshaped by disruptive technologies, with decarbonization, digital innovations, and autonomy/AI as important drivers. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Proactive engagement to identify and promote export opportunities. Organize targeted programs and market visits for groups of Norwegian companies. Advisory and business development services to Norwegian companies, supporting development and implementation of their export and growth priorities. Facilitate impactful business conferences, networking events and matchmaking platforms. Collecting and leveraging data for market updates. Desired qualifications, competence and experience: Higher education, technical or commercial, within a relevant field. 2-5 years of relevant working experience. Experience from one or more of our key focus areas: Tech, Maritime and energy. Digital savvy. Efficiency in CRM, administration, and project management tools is beneficial. Consulting /sales/business development experience from the US. Fluency in English is essential, Scandinavian language is considered beneficial. Desired personal skills: Commercial- and business-oriented mindset Proactive, able to work and deliver results independently and resilient to operate in a highly competitive business culture. Values working in a small, tight-knit team, but are equally comfortable leading a project independently. Result driven, encouraging high levels of performance to deliver impact. Strong communicator and good interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The position will report to Norway’s Commercial Counsellor based at Innovation Norway’s office in Houston, Kathrine Langjord. This is a full-time, Houston-based position, with US/Texas employment terms and conditions. The applicant must have US Citizenship, Greencard or a valid US work visa.
