Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGLFH) is seeking a
Peer Recovery Coach
to work as a personal guide and mentor for UGLFH patients seeking, or already in, recovery from a substance use disorder by creating and sustaining networks of formal and informal services.
Responsibilities
Acts as a role model while understanding that each patient pathway to recovery is patient‑determined.
Mentors patients and helps them identify and remove barriers and obstacles to their recovery.
Assists with creating resource guides and ensures updates are made appropriately.
Monitors referral notifications and arranges patient introduction meetings and appointments.

Job Qualifications
Possesses the equivalent of formal training in healthcare, generally obtained in the form of a post‑high school certification.
Knowledge of evidence‑based substance use disorder recovery, typically acquired through continuing education.
Completion of MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach or CCAR Recovery Coach training.
Evidence of basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Must be recovered from a substance use disorder with a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety immediately preceding date of hire.
Willingness to travel occasionally between UGLFH clinic locations.
