Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or similar preferred.
Minimum 5 years estimating experience with heavy civil – earthwork, structural concrete, steel, underground utilities, paving, grading.
Experience with HCSS Heavy bid, AGTEK, Microsoft Office Suite.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and project specifications.
Responsibilities
Preparing estimates of the cost of materials, labor and equipment for a construction project.
Understanding and reading schemes to make estimates of the cost of the project.
Establishing and maintaining the tendering(bidding) process.
Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
Maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
Working with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on feasibility studies and adjusting the cost when needed.
Managing and coordinating construction projects and preparing construction progress schedules.
