Working Superintendent - Commercial Construction

A Cincinnati-based commercial and industrial general contractor is seeking a Working Superintendent with a proven track record of successfully managing projects in the field from start to finish .

This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can supervise job sites while actively assisting with construction tasks when needed. Projects range from ground-up commercial construction to high-end interior renovations , requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and excellent communication with clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily job site operations from project start through completion
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and field crews
  • Read and interpret civil, architectural, and MEP construction drawings
  • Maintain job site safety and OSHA compliance
  • Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Assist with hands-on construction tasks when required
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction supervision experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings (Civil, Architectural, MEP)
  • Experience installing:
  • Acoustic ceiling systems
  • Door frames and hardware
  • Concrete footers and foundations
  • Experience operating equipment such as:
  • Skid steer
  • Track hoe
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Requirements

  • OSHA 10 certification (minimum) – OSHA 30 preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass DOT physical exam, drug screening, and BMV background check
