Summer Intern Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)

Location: Newton, NC Department: Lean Manufacturing Duration: Summer Internship (1012 Weeks) Reports To: Lean Manufacturing Systems Manager About the Role We are seeking a motivated summer Intern focused on Continuous Improvement pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field to support our Continuous Improvement (CI) team. The intern will assist with process mapping, data analysis, and Lean/Six Sigmabased improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste. Key Responsibilities: Support process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation. Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities. Assist with Kaizen events, workshops, and CI initiatives. Prepare reports and dashboards to track KPIs and project updates. Partner with cross-functional teams on small-scale improvements. Research and recommend best practices and innovative solutions. Qualifications: Strong interest in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma. Analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization tools a plus. Effective communication and teamwork. Prior coursework or exposure to improvement projects preferred.
