Industrial Designer

24 Seven Talent, Irvine, CA, United States

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Furniture Designer who is eager to grow in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. This role is suited for recent graduates or designers in the first few years of their career who are excited to turn ideas into commercially viable furniture. You will contribute to projects from initial concept sketches through to production-ready specifications, partnering closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams. What You Will Do

Support the creation of new furniture collections and products from early concept through final handoff to manufacturing. Produce clear sketches, renderings, and digital presentations to illustrate and sell design directions. Shape concepts that thoughtfully blend form, comfort, usability, cost, and manufacturability. Prepare precise design files, drawings, and specifications used by internal teams and external production partners. Investigate trends in the furniture market, along with new materials, finishes, and competitive products, to inform design decisions. Work alongside engineers and product developers to ensure designs can be produced efficiently while meeting quality and cost targets. Assist with prototypes, product evaluations, and subsequent design refinements. Participate in internal design critiques and present your work to stakeholders. Keep project files, design assets, and documentation organized and accessible; communicate timing and deliverables to project leads. Manage and archive digital assets according to team standards. Handle several concurrent projects, organizing your workload to meet established timelines with minimal supervision. Operate effectively in a fast-moving environment, prioritizing tasks, managing your workflow, and communicating status clearly. Required Background & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in industrial, product, furniture design, or a closely related discipline. Up to 5 years of relevant experience in furniture, industrial, or product design; internships and co-op experience are applicable. Working proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Confident sketching and visualization abilities, from quick ideation to more refined concept work. Ability to explain design intent visually and verbally through drawings and digital decks. Strong eye for detail and a methodical approach to solving design and production challenges. Experience juggling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines under time pressure. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Reliability in following direction, incorporating feedback, and delivering accurate design assets. Self-directed, organized, and responsive, with a solid sense of ownership for your work. Comfort interacting with colleagues and internal “customers,” backed by strong communication skills. A compelling portfolio of work is required for consideration (online submission only). Motivated, self-managed mindset and willingness to take initiative. What We Look For In You

Genuine enthusiasm for furniture and product design. Refined aesthetic judgment paired with meticulous attention to detail. Interest in exploring new materials, manufacturing methods, and emerging technologies. Team-first attitude and openness to mentorship and continuous learning. Ability to accept critique constructively and iterate quickly on design solutions. We welcome candidates who may not match every single qualification but believe they can add value in this role. This position is fully on-site in Irvine, CA; remote work is not available. Application Requirement
