
Residential Solar Sales Representative

Residential Solar Sales Representative - 1099 (Full or Part-Time)
Location: Massachusetts (Field-based / Hybrid)
Contract Details
Meet with homeowners (virtually or in-person) to explain residential solar solutions
Review utility bills and assess energy usage to create customized proposals
Explain financing options such as loans, leases, and cash purchases
Educate homeowners on tax credits, rebates, and net metering
Conduct site assessments and evaluate roof type, shading, and orientation
Present system designs, pricing, savings, and ROI in a clear way
Follow up with leads using calls, texts, and email
Close residential solar agreements
Maintain accurate records in CRM
Provide excellent customer experience from first contact to signed contract
Lead Generation Expectations
Self-generated leads through networking, past customers, and local outreach
Attending company-sponsored and community events (home shows, sustainability events, partner events, sports activations, etc.)
Door knocking in selected high-opportunity neighborhoods and targeted zones as an outreach option
Building and sustaining a referral base with customers, realtors, local businesses, and community partners
Meeting weekly activity targets for new leads, appointments, and sales activity
Preferred Experience
2+ year of sales experience (home improvement, real estate, or solar preferred)
Excellent communication and listening skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable using CRM and digital proposal tools
Solar, roofing, HVAC, or energy sales background
Knowledge of Massachusetts residential solar incentives
Previous door-to-door, retail, or in-home consultation experience
Goal-driven and self-motivated
Passionate about clean energy
Comfortable knocking doors and attending appointments
Compensation: This role is commission based compensation
