Lake Area Free Clinic is a nonprofit medical and dental clinic serving uninsured and underserved patients in Waukesha County. Supported by dedicated volunteers and community partners, the clinic provides compassionate care to thousands of patients each year.
Compensation Lake Area Free Clinic is looking for a talented Marketing & Events Coordinator to join the team part-time. This position pays $25.00 per hour.
Job Description Lake Area Free Clinic is seeking a part-time Marketing & Events Coordinator to help share the Clinic’s story, strengthen community engagement, and support key fundraising and outreach events. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys storytelling, building relationships in the community, and coordinating events that support a mission-driven organization. The Marketing & Events Coordinator supports the Clinic’s marketing, communications, community outreach, and fundraising events. The position works closely with the Director of Fund Development & Donor Relations, clinic leadership, the Marketing Committee, and volunteers to promote the Clinic’s mission and impact in the community.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate development and distribution of three annual newsletters
Assist with preparation of fact sheets, annual report content, and other marketing materials
Coordinate invitations, save-the-dates, and promotional materials for clinic events
Ensure consistent use of the clinic logo and brand materials
Collaborate with the Marketing Committee on communications initiatives
Storytelling and Content Development
Collect and document patient stories that highlight the clinic’s impact
Obtain permissions for use of patient names, photos, and stories
Develop stories and content for newsletters, fundraising appeals, reports, and marketing materials
Share stories that highlight patients, volunteers, staff, partners, and community impact
Digital Communications and Media
Manage the clinic’s social media presence
Assist with website updates and digital marketing content
Coordinate press releases, letters to the editor, and media outreach
Assist with radio, television, or other community media opportunities
Event Planning Responsibilities
Coordinate planning and logistics for the clinic’s annual Gala, including venue, catering, auctioneer coordination, and program planning in collaboration with the Gala committee
Work with gala chairs, sponsors, volunteers, and fundraising staff to support event planning and execution
Serve as onsite coordinator during the Gala
Coordinate the annual Trivia Night fundraiser, including event setup, registration, volunteer coordination, and silent auction logistics
Coordinate smaller friendraising events such as open houses, board gatherings, alumni events, and anniversary celebrations
Assist with coordination of the annual end-of-year appeal, including mailing logistics and vendor coordination
Support mailing list management and volunteer coordination for appeal mailings
Community Outreach and Engagement
Coordinate speaking opportunities for clinic representatives with churches, service organizations, and community groups
Coordinate clinic participation in community events
Serve as the primary contact for third-party fundraising events and provide promotional support as needed
Arrange and lead tours of the clinic for donors, partners, and community members
Relationship and Communication Management
Maintain strong communication with clinic leadership, staff, volunteers, donors, and board members
Support coordination between clinic leadership, committees, and volunteers involved in marketing and events
Minimum five years’ experience in the field of marketing or event coordination
Experience with social media and basic digital communications
Strong writing and storytelling skills
Excellent organizational and project management abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable working with volunteers, donors, and community partners
Working Conditions
Evenings and weekends sometimes required
This position is part time and roughly 20 hours per week
Location This position will be based at the Organization’s Oconomowoc, WI office location.
