Role Overview
The company is building a Strategic Communications and Digital Influence function and is hiring a Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Influence to lead it.
This is not a traditional PR role.
The organization is seeking a builder and strategist who can design and execute a comprehensive communications architecture spanning:
- Founder reputation management
- Media relations and narrative positioning
- Online reputation management
- Crisis communication
- SEO and digital influence strategy
- Portfolio company communications
This role will build the systems, playbooks, and processes that shape how the company and its leadership are represented across media, search, and digital platforms.
The role reports directly to leadership and will hire and manage a small internal team.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead the company's communications and reputation strategy
- Design systems for online reputation management and search influence
- Develop proactive media relations and narrative positioning
- Manage founder visibility, media opportunities, and messaging
- Lead crisis communications and reputation response
- Partner with internal SEO and marketing leads to ensure PR and search reinforce each other
- Oversee press releases, thought leadership, podcast appearances, and media outreach
- Translate complex technology initiatives into clear, credible narratives
- Build repeatable playbooks for product launches, announcements, and reputation management
- Hire and manage a small internal communications and digital influence team

Requirements
- 7+ years experience in communications, PR, reputation management, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability to drive media coverage, search visibility, or narrative positioning
- Experience working directly with executives or founders
- Excellent writing and messaging ability
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to build and lead teams
