Compensation:

$100,000 – $140,000K base

Strong compensation package:

$100K–$140K base salary (based off tenure/experience)

Commercial General Contractor

in the state of North Carolina are on their search for an experienced

Traveling Superintendent

to oversee

new construction of Industrial/Warehouses across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.

The Traveling Superintendent is required to have at least five years experience as a qualified and competent tradesperson. Applicant must have a valid and clean driver’s license. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling knowledge, logistics and vendor coordination expected.

Responsible for day-to-day on-site management of construction activities including maintaining the project progress schedule, coordinating work with internal resources and subcontractors, preparing material takeoffs, material management, reviewing subcontracts, reviewing estimates, evaluating change orders, and interfacing with customers.

Plans, directs, coordinates, organizes & schedules activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget.

Know and understand the requirements of the OHSA.

Know, understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with the OHSA and company safety policies/procedures.

Facilitate mandatory safety tool box meetings.

Ensure completion of initial safety and hazard assessments.

Translate general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the subcontractors.

Work with the subcontractor to overcome work challenges.

Reassess daily goals periodically to meet forecasted production

Working with Project Manager to ensure projects costs, schedule and quality are maintained.

Reviews the contract documents and ensures the project is in compliance.

Conducts weekly project meetings to coordinate and communicate project status and ensure the budget, schedule and quality expectations are achieved.

Assist the Project Manager in the permitting process.

Responsible for managing all subcontractors

Review and approve subcontractor invoices and work with Project Manager to develop costing projections.

Primary problem solver and handles conflict resolution related to field activities. Initiate corrective action as warranted to achieve the project expectations and goals.

Qualifications:

At least 5+ years

of experience (minimum) in a Traveling Superintendent position working on New Construction Industrial/Warehouse Construction Projects

MUST HAVE experience with Pre-engineered Buildings, Tilt up, and Pre-cast structures.

Scheduling knowledge, logistics and vendor coordination expected.

Strong work ethic, team player with strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently

Excellent critical thinking, detail-oriented, problem-solving, mathematical, and sound judgment skills

Knowledge in Procore, MS Project and Sage Software

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL!

Physical Requirements: This job requires daily travel to and from job sites, sometimes weekly travel to locations typically within 12 Hour Dr. time. It is also required that the superintendent performed daily inspections that may require lifting up to 50 pounds. Climbing up and down ladders, scaffolding, lifts; walking a job site under construction, and require repetitive standing, sitting and walking all day to perform quality, safety, and budget inspections of all aspects from trenching to roofing and final start up and finishes. Our model is such that most of our work is subcontracted, yet we expect the superintendent to always take care of the site and what the needs of the site may be.
