Senior Interior Designer
to join our
Richmond, VA
office. Our interior design practice spans

This senior‑level, full‑time position is ideal for an experienced design professional ready to lead projects, mentor team members, and strengthen client partnerships. The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for overseeing the overall design and delivery of commercial interior projects from programming through construction administration, while playing a key role in maintaining and expanding client relationships. This position offers

Key Responsibilities
Lead programming and space planning efforts
Perform and oversee field verification and existing conditions documentation
Manage and produce construction documents
Direct finish and furniture selection, specifications, and client presentations
Lead construction administration efforts and coordination
Maintain and strengthen long‑term client relationships
Support business development and repeat work initiatives
Mentor and guide junior design staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in interior design is required
15+ years of professional interior design experience, with commercial project leadership
NCIDQ Certification is required
Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam Revu
Strong working knowledge of building codes and industry standards
Proven client‑facing experience with excellent communication and leadership skills
3D rendering capabilities preferred
Experience with InDesign, SketchUp, and Photoshop is a plus

Salary Range: $93,000-$107,400
Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market‑informed compensation. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
