General The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering clear, engaging, and timely communications that inform, align, and inspire employees across the organization. This role supports company-wide initiatives, reinforces culture, and ensures employees have the information they need to be successful.
Reports to Director of Marketing & ECommerce
Responsibilities and Duties
Works with various departments to create and execute newsletters for MSC employees.
Works with various departments to create and execute email for MSC employees.
Uses Canva, MailChimp, and other tools to create and execute all internal requests.
Creates and executes email, video clips and internal promotional materials for employee events, including but not limited to MSC employees, the Annual Meeting, and the annual Jean S. Marx Educational Forum.
Helps to write, coordinate and execute MSC employee surveys with HR and various departments.
Works with HR and the print vendor on name plates and new hire kits.
Coordinates internal employee spotlights, milestones and celebration marketing communications.
Serves as the point of contact for internal requests such as internal communications regarding employee anniversaries and new hire announcements
Coordinates the existing seven employee appreciation initiatives with HR, department leaders, and vendors as needed.
Coordinates special requests for the Executive Team.
Coordinates requests mail files and employee lists from HR for employee initiatives and mailings.
Works with the Marketing Director on prioritizing initiatives and executing work, Digital Marketing Coordinator and the Marketing Operations Specialist on prioritizing initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Excellent writing skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, Canva, social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and MailChimp preferred.
Education High school diploma or equivalent. College degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on writing or writing preferred.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements
6 months – 2 years’ experience in business writing.
Enthusiastic and internal team collation focused
Social Media knowledge
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Canva or InDesign, MailChimp, Survey Monkey, SharePoint and other internal communications tools.
